Danny Yoon Wins South Australia’s Top 40 Under 40 Award
Withus Global Managing Director Danny (Hyungsup) Yoon has been named the recipient of the prestigious First Among Equals Award at the 2026 InDaily 40 Under 40 ceremony โ the top recognition of the night, awarded to the most outstanding young business leader in South Australia.
Danny first arrived in Australia from South Korea in 2011 as an international student. Over the past 15 years, he has built Withus Global into South Australia’s leading wholesaler of Korean groceries, fresh mushrooms and authentic ingredients.
Before he began food distribution in South Australia, there were only 15 to 18 Korean restaurants across the state. Today, that number has grown to more than 40 โ a community Danny has helped feed, supply and grow.
“Fifteen years ago, I arrived here with broken English and empty pockets. Tonight I’m standing here still with an accent, but an accent is not weakness โ it is proof of courage.”โ Danny Yoon, accepting the First Among Equals Award
“Whatever holds you back โ language, background, or your own doubts โ keep trying. And when success comes, share it with your community.”โ Danny Yoon
Danny was also recognised for providing employment opportunities for people living with disabilities, reflecting his belief that “building an environment where people can stay matters.”

Danny thanked his wife, business partners, and family who travelled from South Korea to share the moment. The recognition, he said, belongs to the team, the trade partners, and the broader Withus community that has built the business alongside him.
More than 420 guests attended the ceremony at the William Magarey Room, Adelaide Oval, on Thursday 11 June 2026. The evening was attended by Education Minister Lucy Hood and Opposition Leader Ashton Hurn among other South Australian dignitaries.

The InDaily 40 Under 40 Awards, held annually since 2018, recognise South Australia’s leading young entrepreneurs and business leaders under the age of 40 across industries.
